The Perfect Fit

Before we chose God, He chose us – He loved us before He created the world, and it’s a part of His will that we choose to love and follow him, and when we do, everything else perfectly fits.

“For He chose us in him before the creation of the world to be Holy and Blameless in his sight. In love, He pre-destined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ in accordance with his pleasure and will”
— Ephesians 1:4-5

I love that God pursued us before we decided to choose him. Right from the get-go, he formed us and knew everything about us; he knew about all the times we would stuff up, he knew about all of our flaws, and yet he still desired for us to be His.

Later in Ephesians, Paul talks about the amazing plan God has for the Gentiles, and how God’s Grace is so sufficient for them. If it’s His will that we follow Him, doesn’t that then mean that He would desire the best kind of life for us? Totally! He doesn’t want us to be living an average kind of life. And it becomes so much easier when we choose to listen and follow him. The times I have allowed God to direct me in life, everything kind of just fell into place - perfectly. There have been times when I have tried to do things my own way, and they ended up being so much harder.

What does this mean then?

1.    We can rest in the fact that we are chosen children of God.

(Galatians 4:7, “So you are no longer a slave, but god’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir”). And by rest, I mean no matter what struggles or hardships we face, through the hurt and in the midst of pain, we are still called His children, and He still loves us, and He still calls us to greater things.

2.    It also means that he has the perfect plan for you.

A plan that goes beyond what we can imagine, a plan that fits in so perfectly with His will, (Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”).We don’t need to stress and worry about our future, because God has it planned out for us - we just need to intentionally listen and allow him to guide our steps.

God loves each of us so incredibly much, and he has extraordinary plans for us. Take a step of faith! Trust in him, spend time with him, hear his heart for your life, hunger for and desire Him, and watch as God does amazing things in your world!

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
— Romans 8:28

Lots of Love,
